  The WirelessHART communication blocks implement the communication between S7/PCS 7 automation systems and WirelessHART field devices. They communicate over the IE/WSN-PA LINK with the help of the Modbus TCP/IP protocol. Configuration is made easy by virtue of prefabricated communication building blocks. For use with SIMATIC PCS 7 OS or SIMATIC WinCC, symbols and faceplates are included in the scope of delivery.

  The WirelessHART communication blocks are used wherever SIMATIC automation systems communicate with WirelessHART devices over the IE/WSN-PA LINK gateway.

  The building blocks cyclically communicate with the IE/WSN-PA Link via Modbus TCP/IP. The process values of the WirelessHART devices as well as their status is read out and made available at the block outputs. Furthermore, selected status information of the IE/WSN-PA Link is also made available at another block. These include: Connection status, states of the WirelessHART network and other diagnostics.

  The blocks communicate cyclically over Modbus TCP/IP with the IE/WSN-PA LINK. The process values of the WirelessHART devices as well as their status is read out and made available at the block outputs. Furthermore, selected status information of the IE/WSN-PA LINK is also made available at another block. These include: Connection status, states of the WirelessHART network, and other diagnostics.

  Requirement for use of the blocks is a TCP/IP connection configured with NetPro in the engineering system. Currently, this requires CP343-1 or CP443-1.

  Blocks are planned with the usual S7 or PCS 7 planning tools CFC, KOP. FUP. Connection planning is done in NetPro. A configuration example for configuring the IE/WSN-PA LINK allows for easy assignment of the WirelessHART devices to the configured communication blocks.
